Who Was She? Deborah, Channah, Edna and Sarah – Instructions of a Father and A Mother Weeps

I am finally finishing this devotion about four awesome women Deborah, Edna, Channah and Sarah.  These women’s stories are found in the The Cepher of Toviyahu also called Tobit, which is found in The Cepher and Apocrypha.  Please feel free to read the first two posts: Who Was She? Deborah, Channah, Edna and Sarah and Who Was She? Deborah, Channah, Edna and Sarah – Desperate Prayers.

One day Tobit (Toviyahu Senior), remembered some money that he had given Gavay’el in Rages of Madai to keep.    So he called his son Toviyahu to come to him and then he gave him some words of instruction in Chapter 4:3-21.

  • Bury me and despise not your mother.  Honor her, grieve her not and bury her next to me.
  • Keep your mind on Adonai Elohaynu,
  • Do not have a lifestyle of sin.
  • Be honest.
  • Give when you have substance to the poor.
  • Stay away from whoring and only take a woman of your fathers.
  • Love your brethren and despise not your  brethren in your heart.
  • Pay wages any man due quickly.
  • Watch what you do.
  • Do not be drunk.
  • Get wise council from wise people, not from the unwise.
  • Bless YAHUAH Elohiym always, that your ways will be directed, that your paths and counsels prosper.
  • Don’t worry that we are poor, for you will have much wealth if you fear Elohim, depart from sin and do what is pleasing in His sight.

The instructions that Tobvit gives Toviyahu are very important and he passed them down to help his son.  Toviyahu then answers his father, Tobit, agreeing to do all that he is asked however he doesn’t know how to find Gavay’el.  Tobit then writes everything down and tells his son to go and find a man to go on his journey with him.

When Toviyahu went seeking a man, he found Rapha’el, though he did not know that the man whom he was talking to was a messenger of YAHUAH.  Toviyahu then takes him to his father, Tobit.  Tobit asks the man his name and where he is from.

The messenger says that his name is “Azaryahu and that he is the son Chananyahu the great of your brethren.”

Then Tobit tells Toviyahu to prepare for the journey and sends them off with these words:

“Go with this man, and ELOHIYM, which dwells in heaven prosper your journey, and the angel of ELOHIYM keep you company.” Toviayhu/Tobit 5:16

Tobit did not know that Azaryahu was an angel/messenger of ElOHIYM!!!

A Weeping Mother

After Toviyahu left, Channah his mother wept and said to her husband:

Tobit had been blind for many years approximately 8 (see chapter 14:2 which says “which was restored to him after eight years”), and their life had become a little rough.  Even though she was doing women’s work, they were now poor.  With Toviyahu being their only son, she did not want anything to happen to him.  She was content with what she had.  She did not want to expend their son, for personal gain.

Tobit comforted her with these words:

I love it!  Instead of berating her for her tears and her tenderness toward her son like many would do today, he comforted her.  Today many might say to her:

“Woman stop all that crying.  He is going to get my money.”

“Can’t let him be a momma’s boy, he has to become a man some day.”

“Stop crying, you can’t manipulate me with your tears!”

None of that, not even close.  Yitschaq comforted Rivqah when she wept for Ya’aqov and with similar words:

I think that he was just as concerned for their son as she was, but this was not the time to show it.  Now his wife needed comfort.  A husband’s words truly make a difference to a wife.  My husband’s words have been a great source of comfort, when I have been in sorrow or concerned.  He will often stop in his busy day and pray for me and the kids.  This is truly a blessing.

Next we read of the journey and….there is a wedding!!!!!!

Like Hinds’ Feet

A few weeks ago, I read this scripture:

and then I looked up what a hind was:

The hind is the female deer that can place her back feet exactly where her front feet have stepped-not one inch off!  She is able to run with abandonment!  In times of danger, she is able to run securely and not get off track.  The hind is able to scale usually difficult terrain and elude predators.

Then as I began to think upon it for few days, I found personal meaning in it and began to pray it over myself.  Over the last few weeks, we have had some difficult and challenging things happen.  Normally I would have been panicking and been all upset, but this scripture came to my mind and YAHUAH strengthened and helped me to stay on track, climbing above:

A bad cold-all the kids got sick, some at the same time, for several days.

Mold found in the walls of our 1 year old brand new build home!!!  This took weeks of restoration and part of our house was unusable.

The stomach flu – by the time I realized that we were dealing with the stomach flu, our youngest son, had thrown up on me so bad that my clothes had to be cut off of me, our bed spread was destroyed and everything on it.  When it seemed like he was okay and while I was scrubbing the bathrooms, he threw up again, again, and again.  Finally he went to sleep…then when he awoke after getting just a bit of water, the vomiting started all over again.  This was on the Shabbat, so he and I stayed in our Master bath, until I felt he was able to keep water and food down for awhile.

Homeschool Preparation Challenges – I was able to buy curriculum well in advance this for the school year 2017-2018, but I was not able to prepare as I had hoped.  This has caused me to feel stressed but I was able to get enough done for a short time.

Other health challenges – some issues we thought we were done with, appeared again.  Other new challenges came.  These challenges require us to be on alert and sometimes require immediate action-which means “my” daily plans often get turned upside down.

The list could go on and on…however I know that YAHUAH give me the strength in every moment and gives me wisdom when I ask.  I believe YAHUAH is helping me to see that He is in control-regardless of my plans, preparations, and best efforts.  Like the hind He is also keeping my feet on track and though there are all these things happening that can get me off track, I know He is leading me in the way that He wants me to go.

All praise, honor and esteem to the Father of lights, YAHUAH, in whom there is no shadow of turning.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither a shadow of turning.” Ya’aqov (James) 1:17

Encouragement Through the Preached Word

It is really great to come to know the truth about the Name of the Father – YAHUAH, the Name of the Son – YAHUSHA, the history behind all the traditions we have been taught – however we still live lives that deal with issues and challenges.  We need encouragement for our beings.  Also because we are often miles away from anyone with similar beliefs, walking and growing in YAHUAH can be very lonely.  We weren’t created to be islands separated from any other signs of life.  We need other people.

With all that is going on – storms, job issues, food issues, health issues, racial problems, parenting issues-LIFE-we need encouragement through these times. The messages presented by Exalted Life Fellowship In YAHUSHA HaMASHIACH are meeting that need.

Who Was She? Rivqah -Encouraging Mothers

Shalom, I pray that you were encouraged in learning about Rivqah.  Below are some additional scriptures to encourage mothers.

Sirach Ecclesiasticus (found in The Cepher or Apocrypha)3:2 For YAHUAH has given the father honour over the children, and has confirmed the authority of the mother over the sons.

Sirach Ecclesiasticus (found in The Cepher or Apocrypha) 3:5-6 Whoso honors his father shall have joy of his own children; and when he makes his prayer, he shall be heard. He that honours his father shall have long life; and that is obedient unto YAHUAH shall be a comfort to his mother.

Sirach Ecclesiasticus (found in The Cepher or Apocrypha) 3:7 He that fears YAHUAH will honour his father, and will do service unto his parents, as to his masters.

Sirach Ecclesiasticus (found in The Cepher or Apocrypha) 3:8 Honour your father and mother both in word and deed, that a blessing may come upon you from them.

Sirach Ecclesiasticus (found in The Cepher or Apocrypha) 3:9 For the blessing of the father establishes the houses of children; but the curse of the mother roots our foundations.

Sirach Ecclesiasticus (found in The Cepher or Apocrypha) 3:10-11 Glory not in the dishonor of your father; for your father’s dishonor is no glory unto you. For the glory of a man is from the honour of his father; and a mother in dishonor is a reproach to the children.

Sirach Ecclesiasticus (found in The Cepher or Apocrypha) 3:16 He that forsakes his father is as a blasphemer; and he that angers his mother is cursed of ELOHIYM.

Mishle (Proverbs) 4:3 For I was my father’s son, Tender and the only one in the eyes of my mother,

Mishle (Proverbs) 19:26 “He who plunders a father, Chases away his mother, is a son causing shame and bringing reproach.”

Mishle (Proverbs) 20:20 “Whoever curses his father or his mother, His lamp is put out in darkness.”

Mishle (Proverbs) 23:22 “Listen to your father who brought you forth, And do not despise your mother when she is old.”

29:15 A road and reproof give wisdom, but a child unrestrained brings shame to his mother.

30:11  There is generation, that curses its father, and does not bless its mother-

31:1 The words of Sovereign Lemu’el, a message which his mother taught him

Tehilim 71:6  Upon You I have leaned from my birth; You took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise is continually of You.

Tehillim 116:16 O YAHUAH, I am truly Your servant, I am Your servant, the son of Your female servant; You have loosed my bonds.

Tehillim 131:2 Have I not calmed, and kept my being silent, Like one weaned by its mother? My being is like one weaned.

30% off Essential Oil

Again 30% of all essential oils!  This sale is all month long (while supplies last)!

Where?

Beeyoutiful.com

I have been buying from Beeyoutiful for over a year now and I love their products.  The shipping is low, prices are reasonable but their customer service is OUTSTANDING!  In every part of the ordering status, someone is sending out status updates about the order.  I love it.  In a day when things are so automated and unfriendly, Beeyoutiful, is very customer friendly.

In addition to oils, I have purchased:

  • Beeyoutiful Balance™ – 2 oz – a natural progestrone cream, that works without any side affects.  I tried a brand on amazon.com that was a complete waste of money!  This one lasted longer than I thought and it worked to help restore hormonal imbalance.
  • Cinnamon – I am cinnamon lover and their cinnamon is wonderful.
  • Fennel – if you have ever wondered what the secret is to great sausage (clean and kosher of course), it is fennel.  Beeyoutiful’s Fennel is cost efficient and it comes in a big sealed bag (so if you buy it, put the fennel immediately in a glass jar so it won’t lose it potency)

Another important feature of Beeyoutiful that I like that their specials are for an entire month long.  No getting frustrated because a great sale ends in one day..no I can plan to enjoy a sale for a whole month.

Furthermore, I like that I earn “Bee Points” for each order and points for reviews.

So what are you waiting for!  Stock-up as you are able to do!

**I am not an affiliate of Beeyoutiful.com, I am just passing along a great deal.  I received no “Bee Points” or discounts for my post.

The Hope of Yah & A New Creature

For several months, I have been unable to create graphics (which is one way that I worship YAHUAH).  I have more drafts than I can count.  For some reason, I just couldn’t.  However, within a few minutes, this past Sabbath-the first Sabbath of YAHUAH’s New Year – I created two graphics.

Romaiym (Romans) 15:13

Praise YAHUAH for newness!
